HVAC Commissioning Technician

We provide installation, maintenance and service throughout south central PA and northern MD and are seeking an experienced HVAC Commissioning/Warranty Technician to add to our growing team.

The Commissioning & Warranty Technician works primarily in a construction setting and specializes in the startup and commissioning of recently installed commercial HVAC and associated control systems. They also perform necessary warranty work involving recent new installations.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Perform start-up and commissioning of commercial HVAC equipment and systems
  • Perform Air and Water balance as required
  • Installation of High/Low voltage controls/devices
  • Conduct return visits for install call backs and warranty service
  • Evaluate situations and take proper corrective steps and communicate actions with customers and teammates
  • Ability to perform math computations, read blue prints and understand cut sheets to commission, repair, and service mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Use personal computer, tablet and smart phone to complete all necessary service related documentation and paperwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, technical school or related work experience, preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years operating knowledge of commercial HVAC systems with 2-3 years of service background recommended
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Knowledge of BAS systems a plus
  • Knowledge of the efficient use of trade tools required for the industry with the ability to provide all personal hand tools (major tools/equipment provided by company)
  • English language skills (written and verbal)
  • Criminal background check required for hire
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and acceptable motor vehicle record required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee-owner to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee-owner is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee-owner is required to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, squat, crawl; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift equipment, tools, products, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee-owner is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, heights, and confined spaces. The employee-owner is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The employee-owner is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
